Arnaud Belletoile defended his thesis on the 25th of November 2007 on this subject: Development and data analysis of a radio-detection of ultra high energy cosmic rays experiment. His work has covered the early developments in Coda1, the large amount of data of Coda2 and the first autonomous station developed for AUGER. The summary of his document is the following :
Radio-detection of cosmic rays was first attempt in the early 60’s.
Our contributions at the 20th European Cosmic Ray Symposium, Lisboa, Portugal, (5-8 September, 2006)
Based on a new approach to the detection of radio transients associated with extensive air showers induced by ultra-high-energy cosmic rays, the experimental apparatus CODALEMA is in operation, measuring about 1 event per day corresponding to an energy threshold ≈5 · 1016 eV.

Taking advantage of recent technical progress which has overcome some of the difficulties encountered in the 1960’s in the radio detection of extensive air showers induced by ultra high energy cosmic rays (UHECR), a new experimental apparatus (CODALEMA) has been built and operated.
