International School of Cosmic Ray Astrophysics (ISCRA)

11-18 July 2010
Ettore Majorana Centre
Erice, Sicily, Italy

The International School of Cosmic Ray Astrophysics had its first course in Erice Center for Scientific Culture in 1978. It was organized by the late Dr. M.M. Shapiro. It is a biannual event that has had 16 courses. Proceedings have been regularly published, except for the first two courses and the last one as these three cources were not supported by NATO, which now does not support such initiatives.

During the 16 Courses of the school the lecturers have been influential members of the cosmic ray and astrophysical community, icluding the leaders the giant air shower arrays Haverah Park, AGASA, HiRes and Auger, of the TeV gamma ray telescopes HESS and Magic and of the IceCube neutrino observatory. Leaders of well known balloon flights and satellite experiments, as well as many astronomers and astroparticle physics theorists have also lectured. The reputation of the School has been growing through the years and we have had increasing number of applicants. This is the only regular Astroparticle Physics summer school in the world.
